We know, we understand, we believe and yet we still worry. Staying faithful can be one of the most challenging things. When we trying to overcome difficult circumstances, it can sometimes be difficult to see the Father. I am not sure about you, but when I ask for the truth or for some clarity, God tends to feel far away. I do not always see Him.
This is the thing about faith and trust. When it comes to these two important things, we have to know, in the very depths of our hearts, that just because we are not hearing him clearly or experiencing clarity, it does not mean He is not there.
I always thought I had a strong faith. I never doubted God’s love or favour over my life. I would always feel at peace and I would always know that the outcome was going to be incredible. At the age of 23, I am realizing what true trust and faith really look like now more than ever before. I have to trust in His love. I have to know that even when I doubt, or become fearful, that He does not change.
I rest in His promises. I step forward in faith and I let Him move in and through me. I sometimes fight this though. I fight because I want things to go my way. I fight because I am scared. I fight because I am not actually sure if God is really listening. Can you relate yet?
We have learnt that life without reassurance is a risky life. We depend on people to reassure us, to make us feel like we are always doing things correctly, that we look good, that we say the right thing. So when God is ‘silent’ instead of reassuring us, we immediately feel lost. Why is that?!
I do not know about you, but for me, faith should never feel conditional. It does not change when the world tries to push you in the opposite direction. It does not shake. It does not crumble. It withstands the storm, the dryness and the fear.
If you are feeling as though you have forgotten God’s promises, or if you feel like God has forgotten about you and your dreams, I challenge you to look further and rest in His love for you. When it feels like evil is winning, God has already won the war.
You are not forgotten. God sees it all, He holds it all, He knows it all. Victory and power. Wisdom and strength. Peace and Hope.
Here is a song a friend of mine sent me just a few days ago. I listened to this right when I started struggling to believe God’s promises. It is really such a beautiful thing when you have people in your life who go “ok.. this would be perfect for her right now!”. (Find friends like these)
I had the incredible privilege of hosting Emmy Rose in 2017 when she came down on missions trip from Bethel, California. She is so anointed and I was so blessed by this song. May you find comfort and meaning in the words. Be blessed.
