In April, my boyfriend, Tevan and I attended a weekend conference (Hope and Glory) at our church. My heart was restored, my perspective on life was completely transformed and our lives were wrecked in a beautiful way that weekend.
Hope and Glory was led by twenty-seven men and women from the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry in Redding, California. I was fortunate to attend a conference at this beautiful church in 2013. The team leader, Hayley, is a close family friend and has a gift of bringing together people from different nations and leading them in an authentic and powerful way.
Although Tevan and I were reluctant to attend, God had other plans and we ended up registering for the conference. I am so grateful that we walked out of our church at the end of the two days, restored, free and incredibly thankful.
There were many wonderful moments and I still find it difficult to completely explain the goodness of God and what we experienced. My prayer is that through my and Tevan’s testimony, you are able to catch a glimpse of what God is like and how life can be beautiful when you just depend on Him.
I have heard many testimonies of God’s healing and I have never doubted how far God’s love and faithfulness can go but I had never personally experienced healing firsthand. It has always been a dream of mine to witness something like this and He restored my dream that weekend. I not only witnessed Tevan’s physical and emotional healing but the healing of others who are a very important part of my life.
I found that the more desperate I was for Him to show up, the more He came alive in me. The hungrier I was, the more He moved.
Tevan (Babe) is a passionate and talented rugby player. A few weeks before the conference he sustained a foot injury and was in a lot of pain. It was blue and very swollen and he could barely move his toes. Even though his foot was not getting any better, he never went to the doctor. Then Hope and Glory happened…..
There was a time for testimonies on the last evening of the conference. We have been taught that testimonies release freedom into people’s lives and allow them to feel and experience how good God really is. After a woman stood up, gave her testimony and was healed from her pain, I felt strongly that Tevan needed to do the same. This was it! This was when God was going to show up. I was so excited!
At first Tevan was apprehensive but after a few nudges he decided to take a leap of faith and allow God to have His way. After we prayed for him, he removed his shoe, tested his foot and he could move it completely. There was no more pain! He could not believe what he had just experienced. It was such a special moment.
Not only was his foot healed that night but so was his heart. We both experienced something beautiful, together and apart.

A few months have passed since then. Even though that moment was life changing and it felt as though nothing could take away that joy, life still went on. There have still been moments of weakness, pain, sadness and disappointments but what we cling on to is this :
God is so faithful. No one said that loving Jesus would take away the pain of this world, but He does promise to pursue us. He is always looking for a way for us to see Him. He adores our hearts, our minds and our dreams. It is proven difficult to do everything on our own. Trust Him. He is a good, good Father.
